How do I store my cake? Cakes can be stored in the box that they come in. Keep them in a cool dry place, Cakesicles and some cakes can be stored in the fridge in their box if they contain cream cheese frosting for example. It is not advised to keep fondant decorated cakes in the fridge or a completely air tight container as this can cause the fondant to become sticky and the decorations to wilt. Once the cake is cut you could put some cling film over the exposed sponge to stop the air drying it out
